Skyquake by Thomas WolfSkyquake is a State of the Art oil painting of Golden Gate Bridge from Fort Baker to the North.  It was completed in 2010 and is a part of the San Francisco series of paintings.  There are two inspirations for this painting.  David Tsang, a traditional Chinese acupuncturist and long-time friend, commissioned Thomas to create a painting of GG Bridge. The bridge is a special symbol in Chinese culture.  You can see the painting called David’s Bridge here.  The second inspiration is a phenomenon known as a skyquake which is an unexplained sonic boom coming from the sky.  Unique approaches to painting the sky are a consistent element in each of the paintings in the San Francisco series.  This painting on canvas has been framed, but the frame is not shown in the picture.
